PRO BOXING RETURNS TO STUDIO CITY

The San Fernando Valley's premiere live professional combat sports show, Fight Night @ Sportsmen's Lodge returns to Studio City, California on Saturday, September 19, 2015with the premiere of Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate on Unimas.  FIGHT NIGHT @ SPORTSMEN'S LODGE is scheduled for a stacked card of nine professional boxing bouts featuring some of Top Rank's finest World Class prospects as well as Southern California's fast-rising newcomers.

The Solo Boxeo Tecate televised bouts will feature former world title challengers looking to take one step closer to achieving their dreams of becoming World Champions. Former WBA Super Featherweight World Title challenger Jose Felix Jr. (30-1-1, 24KOs) looks to continue his ascent in the Lightweight rankings against the Dominican Republic's Marcos "El Tigre" Jimenez (20-4, 13KOs). While former IBF Lightweight World Title challenger Lenny Zappavigna (33-2, 23KOs) will try to impress in his debut bout since signing with Top Rank as he takes on Mexico's Roman "Nino de Oro" Ayala (23-4-1, 11KOs)

Mexico's Felix Jr. is currently the #7 ranked Lightweight in the world in the IBF and the #5 ranked Super Lightweight in the world in the WBO. Since a close decision loss in a WBA World Title challenge in 2014, the Felix Jr. has rolled off 4 consecutive victories, 3 of which have taken place in the Los Angeles area. In his last bout on July 25th, local Southern California fight fans and viewers tuning into Sole Boxeo Tecatewitnessed a thrilling win against Yakubu "Black Mamba." Australia's Zappavigna is currently ranked #6 in World by the IBF and #7 in the World by the WBO at Super Lightweight. "Zappa" is a high- pressure fighter who has won eight bouts in a row (six by knockout) since moving up to the Super Lightweight division. A potential World Title bout looms in the horizon for the talented Aussie.

The undercard will include a pair of eight round bouts featuring two more young and undefeated prospects from the Top Rank stable making their returns to Los Angeles, Oleksandr Gvozdyk (6-0, 5KOs) and Trevor McCumby (19-0, 15KOs).  Gvozdyk, originally from Kharkiv, Ukraine, won the Bronze Medal in the 2012 London Olympics. Despite turning pro only last year, Gvozdyk has already disposed of veterans Cory Cummings, Otis Griffin, and Michael Gbenga (twice). He will take on another tough test against Mexican knockout artist Francisco "Panchito" Sierra (27-8-1, 24KOs). Arizona's McCumby will be making his second appearance in 2015 after disposing of Fabian Pena (11-1-1) last May.  McCumby will take on Brian Holstein (10-2, 7KOs).

Rounding out the card will be a group of popular local boxers as fan favorite Arnold Barbosa (8-0, 2KOs), Wildcard Boxing Club's Brian Flores (1-0, 1KO), and Sheer Sports' Edwin Sandoval (4-0, 3KOs) look to build on their undefeated records. In addition, Fight Night @ Sportsmen's Lodge will mark the professional debuts of San Pedro's Garrity McOsker and L.A.'s Kevin Vasquez in separate bouts. 

FIGHT NIGHT @ SPORTSMEN'S LODGE takes place on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at Sportsmen's Lodge Event Center located at 4234 Coldwater Canyon Ave. (cross street Ventura Blvd.) in Studio City, California.
