WBO #5 super lightweight/IBF #7 lightweight Jose Felix Jr. (31-1-1, 24 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Marcos “El Tigre” Jimenez (20-5, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California. In a wild round one, Jimenez floored Felix, then Felix later dropped Jimenez. Things settled down after that with former world title challenger Felix outboxing Jimenez to win a competitive fight. Scores were 95-94, 95-94, 96-93. A point deducted from Jimenez for a low blow in round six was the difference.
Unbeaten WBO #11 light heavyweight Trevor McCumby (20-0, 16 KOs) stayed perfect with a first round annihilation of Brian Holstein (10-3, 7KOs). McCumby scored two quick knockdowns to end it.
Undefeated super featherweight prospect Pedro “Lil Pete” Duran (12-0, 9 KOs) scored a sixth round KO over Erick Orozco (5-3-2, 3 KOs). Duran floored Orozco twice in round six to end it. Time was 1:32.
2012 Olympic light heavyweight bronze medalist Oleksandr Gvozdyk (7-0, 6 KOs) scored an impressive fifth round TKO over Francisco “Panchito” Sierra (27-9-1, 24 KOs). Gvozdyk was victorious when Sierra couldn’t continue after round five
Former IBF lightweight title challenger Lenny Zappavigna (34-2, 24KOs), a new Freddie Roach trainee won his Top Rank debut with a sixth round TKO over Roman “Nino de Oro” Ayala (23-5-1, 11KOs). The referee waved it off at 2:40.
