Valley Fight Night brings a double dose of professional boxing to the San Fernando Valley to kick off 2016. Both shows will be part of Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate live professional boxing show on Unimas and will take place two weeks apart from each other.
On Saturday, January 30, 2016, the Burbank Marriott Events and Convention Centerwill host its first Solo Boxeo Tecate show. Billed as Valley Fight Night 5, World Ranked Mexican Lightweight Jose Felix Jr. (31-1-1, 25KOs) will headline the televised portion of Solo Boxeo Tecate on Unimas, when he takes on the Filipino Ricky Sismundo (30-8-2, 13KOs).
Felix is ranked #5 by the IBF and #7 by the WBO in the lightweight division. After three victories in 2015 against solid opposition, Felix hopes 2016 will be the year that he gets another World Title shot. Felix will face another tough test in 28 year-old veteran Sismundo, who is unbeaten in his last five bouts. Now finding his home in Yokohama, Japan, Sismundo will be making his U.S. debut after bouts in the Phillipines, Mexico, Australia, Thailand, Japan, and Indonesia.
Filling out a jam packed undercard on January 30th in Burbank will be unbeaten Top Rankprospects Egor Mekhontsev (10-0), Arnold Barbosa (9-0), Danny Valdivia (9-0), and Eric Altamirano (6-0). Local Wildcard Boxing Club prospects Bryan Flores (2-0) and Cem Kilic (4-0) also appear on the card.
Valley Fight Night 5 will be presented by Top Rank in association with Bash Boxing and PR Sports Promotions.
On Saturday, February 13, 2016, the scene shifts to the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City, California for Valley Fight Night 6 and another installment of Top Rank's Solo Boxeo Tecate on Unimas. In the 10 round Welterweight main event, 21 year-old Oklahoma prodigy Alex "El Cholo" Saucedo (20-0, 14KOs) takes on the toughest challenge of his young career against Florida's Clarence Booth (13-1, 7KOs). Saucedo introduced himself to Southern California fight fans last year with a spectacular fourth round KO of Jake Giuriceo (17-3-1). But the powerful Booth is riding an 11 bout win streak, with his only professional loss coming at the hands of another undefeated prospect, Cleatus Seldin (currently 17-0).
Valley Fight Night 6 on February 13, 2016 at the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City will also feature two highly regarded Eastern European fighters from the Top Rank stable in Ukrainian Oleksandr "The Nail" Gvozdyk (8-0, 6KOs) Lithuanian Egis Kavaliauskus (11-0, 10KOs). Kavaliauskus was recently named ESPN's #5 prospect of the year while Gvodzykcame in at #9. Both former Olympians and Robert Garcia trainees are on the fast track to world title challenges and look to make even more noise in 2016 after a stellar 2015 campaign.
Rounding out the February 13, 2016 Valley Fight Night show at Sportsmen's Lodge will be undefeated Top Rank prospects Toka Khan Clary (19-0), Andy Venves (14-0), and Glendale's own, Vatche Martirosyan (4-0, 2KOs).
