Welterweight Francisco “Chia” Santana (24-4-1, 12 KOs) scored a one-sided ten round unanimous decision over Ed Paredes (36-6-1, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Oceanview Pavillion in Port Hueneme, California. Santana’s relentless rapid-fire style rarely gave Paredes a chance to rest as he took shot after shot. Scores were 100-90 on all three cards.
In a slugfest, Luis Ramos Jr (26-2, 10 KOs) won an eight round unanimous decision over 38-year-old former world champion Cristobal Cruz (40-20-4, 24 KOs). Ramos dropped Cruz in round six. The ex-champ roared back to floor Ramos in round seven. In the end, it was Ramos prevailing 78-72 on all three cards.
2012 Olympic light heavyweight gold medalist Egor Mekhontsev (12-0, 8 KOs) dropped Victor Barragan (12-10-1, 3 KOs) twice in round two and got a referee’s stoppage after flooring Barragan again in round five.
Unbeaten lightweight Xavier Martinez (5-0, 3 KOs) scored a fourth round KO over Gabriel Gutierrez (3-2, 2 KOs). Martinez dropped Gutierrez in round three and again in round four to end it. Time was 2:00.
In a clash of unbeaten super welterweights, Alexander Besputin (3-0, 3 KOs) was victorious when the corner of Christon Edwards (6-1, 3 KOs) pulled their fighter out after round four.
